Homes for Sale Under $300,000 in Vero Beach: 74 Houses and Where They Are
Overview
- My search for homes for sale under $300,000 in Vero Beach returned 74 houses on October 14, 2026.
- The median asked $259,250 for 1,227 square feet, about $209 a foot.
- 41 of those 74 asked between $250,000 and $300,000. That last $50,000 more than doubles your choices.
- Three-bedroom houses made up 42 of the 74.
The $300,000 cap is the first budget in Vero Beach where a financed buyer has a real shot at a three-bedroom house that’s ready to live in. Below $250,000, you’re mostly shopping fixers and cash deals. Homes for sale under $300,000 in Vero Beach still need a careful eye, but the list gets long enough that you can be picky.

The slice between $250,000 and $300,000
On the same day, the under-$250,000 search showed 33 houses. The under-$300,000 search showed 74. So 41 houses sat in that $50,000 slice. That’s the busiest part of this whole band.
Bedrooms shifted too. Under $250,000, two-bedroom and three-bedroom houses were close to even, 14 to 15. Under $300,000, three-bedrooms pulled well ahead:
| Bedrooms | Listings under $300,000 |
|---|---|
| 3 | 42 |
| 2 | 26 |
| 4 | 3 |
| 5 or more | 2 |
One listing didn’t show a bedroom count. Only five houses had four or more bedrooms, so if you need four, plan on a bigger budget.
The north mainland shows up
Here’s the zip mix on October 14:
- 32962 had 28
- 32967 had 18
- 32960 had 13
- 32966 had 9
- 32968 had 6
The big change from the cheaper band is 32967. Under $250,000 it had 6 listings. Under $300,000 it had 18. That’s the north end of the mainland, including the Vero Lake Estates area, where lots tend to be bigger. If you want some elbow room and don’t mind the drive, look there. My Vero Lake Estates guide covers what living out there is like.
South county 32962 still had the most, with 28 of 74. Nothing in this band sat on the barrier island.
Two houses at $299,900
The two most expensive listings both asked $299,900:
- 32962: 3 bedrooms, 1,628 square feet, about $184 a foot
- 32967: 3 bedrooms, 1,443 square feet, about $208 a foot
The south county house gave you 185 more square feet for the same price. That doesn’t make it the better buy. Age, roof, lot size and street all matter. But it does show why you should line up houses by price per foot, then check what’s behind the number.
What a lender and insurer will want
If you’re financing, your house has to pass two tests before closing. Your lender’s appraiser needs to see a safe, livable home. Your insurer needs to see a roof and systems it’s willing to cover. Fail either and the deal stalls.
At this price, the houses that pass tend to share a few things:
- A roof with real life left in it. Ask for the age and the permit.
- An electrical panel insurers will accept.
- Plumbing that isn’t the old type insurers flag.
- No open permits or unpermitted additions.
Get the 4-point and wind mitigation reports early. They decide your premium and sometimes if you can get a policy at all. Here’s what wind mitigation and four-point inspections are and why they matter here.
Then there’s flood. Some of these houses sit in a flood zone and some don’t. Check the map before you offer. My guide to Vero Beach home insurance cost covers both pieces.
How to bid when the list is this short
Seventy-four houses sounds like a lot until you filter for the things you need. Take out the fixers, the flood zones you don’t want, and the ones too far from work, and you might have ten.
So when a good one shows up, don’t lowball it out of habit. Look at how long it’s been listed and what nearby houses sold for. Then make a clean offer. My reasonable offer chart is a decent starting point.

FAQ
Can I find a house under $300,000 near the beach in Vero Beach?
Not on the island. In my October 14 search, none of the 74 houses were in 32963. Mainland homes east of US-1 are your closest option.
Is Sebastian cheaper?
No, not at this level. Sebastian’s under-$300,000 search returned only 11 houses that day, with a $259,899 median. That’s a hair above Vero Beach’s $259,250, and Vero Beach had 63 more houses to pick from.
